Nissan Silvia S15 200sx Tweeter Upgrade Holes in OEM door trim + Pioneer components TS-D69c 6x9
The sound system in the Nissan Silvia S15 (200sx) probably isn’t something everyone would pay too much attention to but I love having good quality music when going for a drive.
The goal: Keep the setup nice and light but full sounding.
I didn’t want to add a big subwoofer which would add too much weight so I’ve gone with a component set of Pioneer 6 X 9’s TS-D65C installed in the parcel shelf. Their specs looked like they’d give a good amount of bass while still being really light. The other feature I liked about these is the pivoting flush tweeter design. I couldn’t find many with the swivelling feature while flush mounted which I think will help keep an OEM + look.
Tweeters on the S15 are a factory option where they’re mounted behind the door handle trim so that’s where I’ve mounted these. It requires drilling and creating a new hole but the trim has the provision for it already.
Installing tweeters in the Silvia S15 isn’t too hard - you just need to be REALLY careful.
🔊 0:00 Intro with old 6x9’s replaced and S15 tweeter placement
🔊 1:00 Pioneer TS-D65C tweeter in detail
🔊 2:27 Dodgy! Found the door speakers are different on each side
🔊 2:53 This S15 has slow power windows. I lube them up while the doorcard is off
🔊 4:17 S15 Silvia door handle trim modification for tweeters
🔊 6:28 Wiring up and hooking up the amp
🔊 6:56 Install complete - how does it look? OEM+
The final part to the upgrade would be to match the speakers in the front (who the heck installs different speakers on each side!?!?)
Any questions let me know

ADM Nissan Silvia 200SX S15 Spec R spoiler install with factory mount bolt holes + new spoiler seals

While some like the smooth and spoilerless look on their Silvia and others like the BIG WANG look with the JDP Aero Spoiler we're going for the full ADM look with the low-line ADM (possibly NZDM??) wing. As we've seen this 200SX has had some "work" done to it and moving to the boot and wing is no exception. I'm not surprised that it's been through the winged phase, then the wingless phase and n...

Hello , thanks for the video , I have changed almost everything I could think of , FAN , CONTROL MODULE, THERMOSTAT, AND RADIATOR VALVE , yet the fan is not working and it not overheating. Please, what could be the issue here, please
@@victorarinze6217 hi. Interesting problem you have. If you're not overheating - I would check if your thermostat is functionIng correctly. I know you already said you changed it but is it the correct one, opening and closing properly and is it installed properly?
Sounds awesome 👍
Looks good with the Steering and Colour MFA, definitely makes the look more modern. How difficult was it to fit the steering wheel and get both the Hooter and AIrbag to work?
@@jivantakirstenpillay6128 thanks. Not very hard. Just some wiring changes to convert the later model plug to the 8L one
@@ianpgonzaga , do you have more info on this or is there a video I can follow?
@@jivantakirstenpillay6128 nope sorry. Didn't make one on that wiring harness sorry.
Hey, I am having trouble finding the part, do you remember where you purchased it?
Incorrect flow will also refer to crossed EVAP lines. You have a green and white line in the engine bay which are both vacuum lines, however one goes through the N80 and to the 3 way check shown in the video while the other one connects to the check valve on the shared junction between the vacuum pump and intake manifold. The ECM checks the state of the EVAP with the EVAP Valve Test. To me it's not readily apparent how it determines "flow" if there are two lines sharing a similar vacuum. Anyway N80 connects to a white line going to the charcoal canister and the vacuum pump T connects to a green line going to the leak detection pump.

Hey thanks. Yeah if it's got the old immo then yes. Gotta check with a scan
Are the the right why round one you was working on was different to the others
Oh was it?! Haha crap. At what point did you notice ?
I pulled fuse 16 and both fans run. But I did the cable on the pins test and nothing work. I replaced both fans, all sensors, fusebox, and control module. Now what? :(

So you want to remove the flashing immobilizer light when powered up on the bench? .you can't - it will always be flashing until the system can see all other immobiliser parts from the ecu and the key itself.
Hi @IanPG, great video! Will this work with an Audi Advanced Key for a B8 S4? I read through all the comments but don't see any similar mentions
Thanks! I don't think this process will work - that would be a newer generation security system so would need different tools.

Hey LakXx - so in that case it sounds like you just wanna install ColourMFA lol Or are you talking g about using an external screen ?
@@ianpgonzaga Do they still sell those nowadays, my plan is to redo the whole dashboard with 3d printing so i could easily make room for different screen dimensions. Hi, Great video, just what I was looking for! Is the FIS completely CanBus driven, or is there a possibility of getting some functions to work? Also can the audible bleeping on the cluster be muted at all (I have a full version of VCDS)? Sounds. Like a good project. The grey pin has the 3 signals controlling the screen. When a buttons pressed they short to ground. There are many more signals at the grey pin too for the engine so keep studying the pinout the functions to want working at the cluster.

Good question. What is the ecu in this car ?
Ok I’ve been out and tested today only the fan near battery tray works, so I assume I’d have to change the fan that isn’t coming on?
Olá! Qual câmera você usou para o vídeo? IPhone?
I’m confused you said if pulling fuse 16 and both fans don’t run then you need to replace that fan, then you said after that if both fans don’t run, then you need to change fan control module?
Hey Steve - so this part? ua-cam.com/video/ZV6yAoWRNs4/v-deo.htmlsi=ft13OghbGFoTsrAE&t=63 I thought I was quite specific but maybe I spoke too quickly... Pull fuse 16 = if EITHER of the fan's DON'T run then you'll need to replace THAT fan. If BOTH fans DON'T run = replace FCM.
Perfect now I understand, pulling fuse 16 my fans don’t run, bridging on thermal wires only one runs, the one near battery try, so this is still FCM issue I assume or fan issue?
@@user-lu8fr9hv8y I would replace the fans first in this case E
@@ianpgonzaga even though one fan works?
@@ianpgonzaga you stated of both fans don’t run after pulling fuse 16, then replace FMC? Now you say replace the fans? Understand why I’m confused 😂
I pulled the fuse ignition on engine not running both fans didn’t run? Is that replace, so does that mean replace fan control module?
Was the electrical already disconnected
Yes it was. The previous owner got stuck after that.
Awesome video! My TT big fan stopped running while I was at idle out the front of my house, although after pulling out the #16 fuse, both fans ran. What could I do from here?
Get some thick gauge wire to do the tests in this video to begin ruling out what could be wrong.

Just bad alignment at the cabin end
